What is On-site polls

On-site polls are small questionnaires that you can add on your website and they will help you understand the reason behind visitors’ actions.

Usually, an on-site poll (feedback poll) opens in a pop-up modal at the bottom or in the middle of the website. In most cases, they ask only one question or the main question and then a descriptive one.

Here’s how a common on-site poll popup looks like (bottom, right):

In theory, you could ask whatever question that is relevant to your business but here are some of the common ones.

New users

  • Is our pricing clear enough? (If the answer is no, ask what would they change)
  • What made you choose us over the competitors?
  • What would persuade you to use our tool more often?
  • How likely are you to recommend us to a friend or colleague?

Existing customers

  • How likely are you to recommend us to a friend or colleague?
  • Is there anything missing from our tool? (if yes, ask what is missing)
  • What is the feature you like the most in our tool?
  • Are you happy with our support and help services?

Other

  • How would you rate our service on a scale of 1 – 10?
  • Which other options did you consider before choosing us?
  • Did you find this article useful?
  • What other products/features would you like to see us offer?
  • Please list the top three things that persuaded you to use us rather than a competitor.

E-commerce

New visitors

  • How did you find our website?
  • What is holding you back from buying this item now?
  • What information is missing or would make your decision to buy easier?
  • Were you able to complete the purpose of your visit today?
  • What is your biggest concern about purchasing this item today?

Existing customers

  • Did you find our list of payment options sufficient?
  • Was there anything about this checkout process that we should improve?
  • What was your biggest concern about purchasing from us?
  • Are you happy with our assortment of products?

Other

  • What’s the one thing that nearly stopped you from buying from us?
  • Which other options did you consider before choosing [name]?
  • How likely are you to recommend us to a friend or colleague?
  • Do you have any questions before you complete your purchase?
  • What other content would you like to see on this page?

Publishers and Blogs

  • What kind of topic would you like to see more on this website?
  • Which other blogs do you visit to get information about [topic]?
  • What other content would you like to see us offer?
  • What were the main 3 things that persuaded you to join our list today?
  • How would you rate this article on a scale of 1 – 10?
  • Is there anything missing on this website? (if yes, ask what is missing)
  • How likely are you to recommend us to a friend or colleague?
