A metric tree breaks a top-level metric down into the input metrics that drive it.

For example revenue splits into traffic, conversion rate and average order value, each of which can be broken down further. It shows teams where they can have impact and helps diagnose why a number moved.

Defined as code in a semantic layer, it keeps everyone on the same definitions.
