Direct traffic
Direct traffic is visits where the source could not be determined, often because the visitor typed the address or the referrer was lost.

A large direct channel is usually a sign that something is missing rather than a sign of loyal fans. Dark social, email clients, apps, untagged campaigns and privacy features all end up as direct.
Tag your campaigns properly and check for lost referrers after redirects, and the direct bucket usually shrinks.
