Event

An event is a single recorded user interaction, such as a page view, click, scroll or purchase.

Written by Reflective Data experts · updated Oct 5, 2026

In modern analytics tools like GA4, almost everything is an event. Each event has a name and a set of parameters that describe it, for example a purchase event with a value, a currency and a list of items.

Well-designed events are the foundation of reliable analysis. Consistent names and parameters make data easy to query, join and trust.
